Meeple Jewelry
I was inspired to make some meeple jewelry. If you are unfamiliar with meeples, click here! My super talented husband made this little video about the process. They are slowly going up for sale in my etsy shop if you are interested in them :)

Scrap Crown
I was recently invited to a birthday party at which fancy hats or tiaras are encouraged. I was inspired to head down to The Scrap Exchange (a GREAT place in Durham full of all kinds of bits and parts and otherwise discarded items ready to be made into awesome things).
I picked up this spread:

(the book of ladies' heads is mine and it's a gem)
This is what happened after a couple of days and lots of hot glue:
CARMEN SAN DIEGO FLOWERY DIADEM!

Dremel Workstation
I recently got a Dremel 3000 rotary tool and a Dremel Workstation to act as a small drill press for drilling tiny holes in wooden pieces.
So far, I like it! It's a good size for our small apartment with no garage for a large piece of hardware. However, assembling the Workstation was pretty difficult to figure out from the included instructions. I used the video below, which was thankfully available and very helpful.
The rotary tool didn't come with the size drill bit I wanted, so I bought an addition drill set at the same time. But...I didn't realize I needed another set of collets for those bits. Just a tip for those of you who might get into hardware - make sure you have every little thing you need or you'll have to wait until you dive in to your next project!

WIP: Multi-Strand Necklace

This is a work in progress. Soon it will be finished and looking similar to this cluster necklace I posted a few months ago. It was very popular! I figured it would be a smart item to make for the upcoming Tails at Twilight Gala's silent auction to benefit the Animal Protection Society of Durham County.
I plan to make at least one more piece in addition to this one for the auction.
The Gala is happening Saturday, March 17th (St. Patrick's Day). I'll be there taking photos! Maybe I'll see you there :)

Nesting Chicken Hat
Tried my hand at making a chicken-in-a-nest hat. What do you think? Implication working??
See it here on Etsy.

Colorful colorful
Wow, it's been a while, blogger!
I've been caught up in Kickstarter fulfillment for the past month or so. We mailed out about 475 little padded envelopes full of Writers Dice...whew! A few hundred of those involved hand writing each address on a customs form. It was a pain in the hand for a little while, but it was worth it. We're selling a limited number of the remaining dice on etsy, so check them out!
I haven't had too much time to work on anything brand new, but I can at least share a couple photos of this maybe-too-colorful necklace that has remained unfinished for a while now.

Too crazy? I can't decide. Perhaps I should just finish it off and wear it and see how I feel about it!
