Quick rubber chain maille experiment

After seeing those rubber o-ring chain maille bracelets earlier today, I couldn't help but try to make one. It was slow going at first, but I managed to figure out a "helm weave" by looking at a completed bracelet.

I had EXACTLY enough large black rubber o-rings (and some cheapo, kinda ugly base metal jump rings that were a little too big for the project but OH WELL) to cobble together a really simple experiment bracelet. Onward to higher quality and better colors!

Have any readers ever tried this? Did you like it? It seems like it would be fun, relatively quick (depending on the design), and produce a comfortable thing to wear.
